En Mayo la cosa va de «Terrazas y Balcones». Así es!!! Sale el sol (aunque esta semana no lo parezca), suben unos grados la temperatura y ya empiezas a pensar en sacar las sillas fuera y desempolvar la barbacoa.

Uno de los proyectos en los que ando trabajando estos días, es la terraza del ático al que una pareja de norteamericanos se acaban de mudar junto al barrio de la Judería de Sevilla, y que hasta ahora había estado abandonada. Un espacio, que sin ser muy grande, por su distribución nos ha ayudado a crear distintos ambientes: una zona de sofás donde relajarse al sol, un rincón donde sentarte a cenar a la luz de las velas, y el cocktail/grill bar.

Recuperar los suelos de loza de barro y elegir que tipo de sombra nos permitiría usar la terraza en las calurosas tardes atendiendo a la orientación de la misma, han sido nuestras prioridades. Después solo había que elegir que tipo de muebles queríamos (fibra sintética, maderas tratadas,…), las plantas y flores, que aportarían el frescor y sensación de contacto con la naturaleza; y la iluminación cálida y discreta que nos aportase es ambiente acogedor y apetecible que íbamos buscando.

Mientras la montamos, y hasta que os podamos enseñar como ha quedado, os dejo algunas de las imagines que más nos han gustado e inspirado:

Y para aquellos que en vez de terraza, tenéis un pequeño balcón a la calle… No os achiquéis!!!! Cualquier espacio es bueno para respirar aire fresco y disfrutar los rayos de sol con el café mañanero, o de una copa de vino cuando llegas a casa después de un largo día de trabajo. Para muestra un botón:

¿A qué estás esperando para ponerte manos a la obra y arreglar ese rincón exterior que has tenido olvidado todo este tiempo? ¿Por qué esperar al viernes para tomar algo fuera, si puedes disfrutar de tu terraza todos los días de la semana? Adelante!! Tu puedes!!

May it’s all about «Terraces and Balconies». That’s it!!! The sun shines (although this week doesn’t look like), the temperature rise a few degrees and everyone start thinking on taking the chairs out and dusting off the barbecue.

One of the projects I’m working at the moment, is the rooftop terrace at the flat an American couple just moved in next to the old Jewish quarter of Seville. A terrace which has been abandoned till now. A space, that not being very large, its big enough to create different environments: a sofa relaxing area, a corner to sit and dine by candlelight, and the cocktail/grill bar.

Cleaning and recovering the old tiles flooring and choosing the right shades that will allow them to use the terrace on hot afternoons due to the east orientation, have been our priorities. Afterwards, just needed to choose the kind of furniture we wanted (synthetic fiber, treated wood, …), the plants and flowers, which would bring the freshness and nature feeling; and the warm and discreet lighting that would create the cosy evening atmosphere they were aiming.

While we build up everything, and before we can show you how the final result is, here I leave some of the images that we like and inspired us.

And for those who instead of terrace, have a small balcony overlooking the street … Do not hesitate to use it!!!! Any space is good to breathe fresh air and enjoy the sunshine while your morning coffee or having a glass of wine once you’re back home after a long day at work.

What are you waiting for to start working on the outside corner design you didn’t care all this time? Why to wait until Friday to have a drink out, if you can enjoy your terrace every day of the week? Let’s do it!!!
